Inspiring EXPATS Who want to make a difference.

moving abroad

I made the decision to move abroad, without really having any idea what the impact would be. It wasn't until 6 months in, that it hit me, I no longer knew who I was. I started to feel resentful, and very homesick. morning everything I had lost, my friends, my career, and my identity.

All people wanted to know was who my husband was and what job he did. This isn't how things were meant to be.

I had worked too hard to give up my career simply because of visa restrictions. My phone and email was so quiet, no one was calling to ask me for a drink, or find out what I was up too, my diary completely free.

I had to start from scratch. Figure out what I wanted to do with all my time, and put together a plan of how to make this work.

Translating Me is a service to help those living abroad figure out whats next, whether you moved abroad with work, charity, your faith or partner. Our 6 stage process helps you to reinvent yourself, to gain the clarity you need on what you and your family want to create, achieve and experience with your time and resources.

We run programmes that support people living abroad to maxmise their time, to live more out of choice that default, and to ensure that each family member can look back at their time overseas with happy memories (and lots more shoes!) Our goals is to provide useful resources that save you time, and give you the knowledge and inspiration you need to create a plan.

If you consider yourself a high achiever who want to maxmise every opportunity living abroad has to offer - then this blog is for you.

We help you to get clarity on your true priorities and the confidence to make them happen.

Current programmes:

The Identity Project 6 week online programme

We aim to provide a launch pad for expats arriving in foreign country, setting up a business or simply wanting to make the most of their assignment.

When you join an Identity Project group you will be in good company with like-minded professionals and a Translating Me Coach who will guide and support you along the way to get focused, organised and a weekly routine to help you settle in.

Our unique programme will open up new pathways, shining a light on all the possibilities and opportunities you might never have noticed. You will be held accountable to develop your ideas and inspired to see things from a different perspective. You will be encouraged to rebuild your confidence, culturally adapt and improve your decision-making skills – all within the safety of The Translating Me programme.

Whether fresh off the plane, or been overseas for a while, wouldn't it be wonderful to have your own local personal assistant, someone you can call when you need advice or recommendations on events, services, decoration or tailored itinerary for when the inlaws come to visit.

Get a free call from your local assistant to see how we can help now.

How have you been #livingwellabroad this week? Our #livingwellabroad campaign highlights the best (and most challenging) snippets of daily life abroad. We encourage you to look forwards and explore your new home, rather than looking backwards and comparing, when you do notice something different or fun - share it with us all. Each time we pay attention to the the good stuff, and recognise it, our wellbeing will rise slightly. Scrolling through the #livingwellabroad certainly makes me smile each week, I am inspired by how people get out to explore, get lost, and laugh about their mistakes from across the world.

Join us on the #livingwellabroad challenge, get out to explore your new area this week. Then capture the moment, and tag it #livingwellabroad to be featured on our Instagram account, and scroll through hundreds of others who are also living abroad and making the most of their time.

Hannah is my lifesaver. She helped me (and the whole family) see all the opportunities rather than blockages of living abroad. I can not thank her enough for all those checklists and helpful guides! Translating Me is a service every expat should know about.
